I gave my exam on 17th October
result on 7th November 10.30 am EST
score 240/99

now my prep I started on 20th june this year.. somedays after I gave my CS.
I used- Kaplan lecture notes, ( except pathology )
- Rapid review pathology
- FA
- UW
- did around half Qbook & a bit more than half of Kaplan Q bank
I started first by reading Kaplan lecture notes. Read & underlined all books in my fast first read except anatomy, pharmacology, pathology & behave science. Read BRS behave science once but didn’t worked for me. I heard Goljan with this too.
After this I started RR.. read & underlined it. Now tried to do all KLN once more except abv subjects.. & read FA first time, HY neuroantomy
Now I took UW subscription on 17th august & complete first round of UW with avg of 64% leaving pharmacology as I didn’t read that till then..
From sept 3rd or 4th I started KLN once agin trying to memorize now.. this time I did Pharmacology first time but KLN bored me to death as this was my worst subject.. so I picked to do FA only here..
I also scanned KLN Behav science & KLN anatomy this time.
After this I saw explanations of my UW wrong answers. Last 1 week I read FA + reviewed KLN ( like micro, biochem, genetics)which I didn’t memorized earlier
Subject wise..
ANATOMY- I did HY Neuroanatomy , embryo from FA ( enough for exam) did Upperlimb & lowerlimb from KLN + UW +FA
Behav science- most of it is same as for Ck so I just scanned KLN at the end. I was not comfortable with BRS so left it after 1 reading in start
Physiology- my weakest subject acco to UW got around 52-53% during my last revision also in last week I was not reaching abv 65% in the KLN Questions.. so I just felt hopeless here but finally got stars here ..so KLN is sufficient here..
Pathology- this was easier for me as it has lots common with IM in CK
Did RR & audio.. ( don’t know how much I retained from audio) my most of the exam was path.. more than 60% Questions
Pharmacology- My most dreaded subject till last time I struggled to do KLN pharma but I just read it once. Instead I revised FA pharmac ( from older edition) 2-3 times. It worked for me, my performance here is just average.
Micriobiology- KLN + FA it covered my exam very well
Bottomline formula for my score was. KLN+ FA
UW for practicing test taking skills + review
A relaxed mind, do everything to be calm like for me, it was a day or two without books, 2-3 movies aday.. do whatever works for you.. but maintain your sanity.. most imp for exam like this.
Now in exam – it wasn’t that scary after doing online UW. For my mind it was another marathon of UW Questions.
Most of my exam was Patho+pathophysiology
Around 15-20 Questions each from other subjects
In anatomy Neuroanatomy & nerve injuries were mainly asked
Around 10-15 % Q was like UW, 10-15% was like USmle cd.
But most of it was twisted ( by twisted I mean the way the Question was framed but doable if you are awake & alert) but there in KLN + UW most of the time
I had around 6-7 hrs sleep at night b4 exam( do anything to sleep.. You need relaxed mind for exam)

congrats kitty
my exam is at the end of this month and i was so nervous and actually after i took one of the downloaded nbme's and i didn't got a good score i felt like dying,but i don't know why,after i read your post it made me feel comfortable and i got many +energy from your post...and now i feel even i failed in nbme i can pass the exam..and i am trying so hard...thanks a lot...wish you the best
