im getting mixed advice. I have finished step 1 (88), taking CK next month. Its such bad timing on my end but i know i wont make any of the deadlines for eras. (i prob wont get ecfmg certif till april.)

A friend told me just to apply directly to programs, no matter if its in march,april may june! TO just apply. What do you guys think of this? is it really good idea?

I will just be applying to local places by my home in Florida. Sorry if this is dumb dumb question but i need some clarity before i wait an unnecessary extra year to apply to residency . thanku sooo much.

usually programs do not accept applications outside ERAS.

But some programs do. I do not know the list of these programs.

applications are NOT accepted aoutside eras and the fact that you are only applying close is a huge mistake

robin- yes,'does not accept outside eras'... so i guess this means it will piss them off if i do fax or
email,and application will go in garbage and ruin chances 4 next year! yes, i am drama queen

I checked on frieda for programs that accept outside eras. and 2 Navy hospitals
popped up. but i guess we cant apply to those .

Ram 3- appreciate ur opinion. i just figured since it will be all last minute i will have more chance
in my home state? but of course i will apply everywhere eventually. But i figured in FL
maybee i can hand deliver my application to the program coordinator. what to u think. or
will I hear "Security to the front desk, Security!" sticking out tongue

no you dont get blacklisted for applying. maybe for harassing, but not applying

I rant, I rave, I throw applications via fax away (always in the recycle bin) - but I never remember a name from a faxed application to the next interview season. What can it hurt??
