Hello friends,
how close can i cancel before the interview without being rude and unethical...e.g my IV is on fri but i dont want to go for some personal reason, if i call in on wednesday..will that be okay?
If its too late i will go..but that will be a little risky for me.

Sarika,
I think you should cancel at least a week prior to your scheduled interview so the PC could invite others for the spot. However, if it's a personal/family emergency, you could tell them that. I'm sure they'll understand.

the same thing happened to me...I finally went to the IV......If you cancel tomorrow, they can probably call someone who lives in the area.... I finally "practiced" some medical questions.... met a couple of people including the most renowened celebrity of the forum.....
anyways, best time...maybe at least a week, if possible.... that's what coordinators suggest on their email

hey sarika good to see you...

I read at amg forums that two weeks is the minimum time you need to cancel an iv...
I guess the pcs are extremely busy and there are a lot of people waiting for a chance to get invited....
cancel now, I think the PC will get mad at you, but I think that at times is unavoidable...

Yes, that's too late. Chances are the person that I will call to replace you will have to make a flight, and that's expensive. If you know that you aren't going to go to an interview, do the right thing - cancel when you know you aren't going.

Email the PC as early as possible. Overnight notice is too late. There isn't always someone in the area and the interview place remains empty and wasted.

It really doesn't matter if we are angry, a person cancelling isn't going to care. But an email sent to me on Wednesday evening, cancelling a Thursday morning interview really, really angers me. What a waste for another applicant.

two weeks then..... anyways if not posible I still believe it's better to cancel any day than not showing up....

bbb during your IV season how many persons scheduled a day and did not show up?.... I guess it gets more common at the end ?

yeah like bbb it angers me to that people who are fighting for interviews and will do anything to get one and then you because you say you have personal reasons might not go that just aint right
