To all those who have taken the exam and may b those who have taken NBME and of course those who are about to take the exam soon.
Please tell me if MKSAP is tougher or easier or comparable to the real exam questions ? and what about NMS review for USMLE step 3 and Kaplan QBank ?
Which resource do u think resembles the real exam most closely ?
I have a month for preparation and i have mksap, nms, kaplan notes, kaplan q bank, sheheer cd, uw ccs. I also have cmdt but not swansons. also my 2ck material isnt with me.
what of these should i read and what m i missing ?
any advice will b of great use to Step3 newbies like me so please post ur comment

i havent taken the exam yet so dont how much of this is correct...but i felt swanson was really good ...i did geriatrics, emerg med, int med chapters...i'm also going to do step 3 lecture notes kaplan, UW definitely, and will try to revise step 2 ck medicine and obg and do some kaplan qbank...i dont have time more than this but i hope this will be enuff...

based on my personal experiences..in the final month you must focus on high yild info on the subjects you are less comfortable with. Example...in my final month i was pretty much comfy with important internal medicine subjects..and surgery..so i focused on psych, obgyn, peds and ethics...etc..This is the month you need to really grasp the CCS part..so start reviewing UW cases..and do all at least three times. My style is not to overduw on questions all the way up to test becasue you may be losing focus on what you need to fill in the gaps in your brain of what subject you are not comfortable with. For me..reviewing a couple of times Crush step 3 was a way to create a strong high yield base in my final month..since i had studied extensively on WM and Swansons beofre that. You need to review something like Crush cover all corners...because step 3 covers them all. Hope anything here helps.
