what is the reason, we see cytoplasmic immunoglobulin instead of surface.

  #2

i think failure of differentiation...cytoplasmic Ig we see in pre B-cell stage

  #3

that M spike is due to cytoplasmic Ig ?

  #4

 i am confused..what is the ans peekay??

  #5

in pre B cells igs move from cytoplasm to surface. since there is no maturation of pre B cells to B cells . Igs are trapped inside.

  #6

but as asmi asked why is the m-spike then?? :?

  #7

release of gammaglobulins or its precursors are responsible for monoclonal M spike

few cells have russells bodies (contain gamma Ig in their cytoplasm)
 since Ig gamma is found in cytoplasm therefore known as cytoplasmic Ig .They are always monoclonal ( IgG or IgA)--->synthesize more light chains than heavy chains--->excrete light chains in urine(bence jones proteins)
