Elektra, we are supposed to present an interesting patient/case with whom we were closely involved in the past..., we would not reveal his name so don´t worry about pt privacy...

By the way, nice avatar lipssmiling face

Ok, so summarizing:

- Choose interesting case, or they could ask for a patient from whom you learned the most or in whom you made and error in patient care.
- Make the presentation short (5 min) and interesting.
- Make sure to mention relevant history, physical, labs, other tests, disclose diagnosis, & follow up if appropiate.
- Make sure to say what you learned from it.
- Be fluent on presentation.

Thanks to everyone & good luck to all of ussmiling face

egomex, that about sums it up.

However, I must say that mph's incident is very rare and unheard of. Typically, a faculty member (1-on-1 interview) might ask you to discuss a case you thought was interesting. I dont even think it'll take you 5 minutes; probably 2.....at most. Just state the CC, brief history + physical, short labs, and diagnosis. The key is (and this is what the faculty are looking for)........WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM THE CASE AND/OR HOW IT HAD AN IMPACT ON YUOR MEDICAL TRAINING. Thats where the art of bullshitting comes in......simple as that.

Anyways, maybe someone can disagree and point out where I may have erred. But personally, my case in 1 minute long, and I dont plan on dwelling on it too much. I think it is irreleveant to the interview, personally, and PDs are really using it to screen your communication abilities.
