hi, i am palnning to do my residency in the states, and since i am new in this business i wonder : can my wife join me with the j1 visa i'll get or should she get also a visa of her own? thank's. how those it work exactly for my spouse?

If you are on J1 visa, spouse gets J2 visa. It is dependent visa based on your position/residency. She can get work permit on that visa and work while she is on J2 visa.. Catch is .. your 2 yr HRR rule applies to dependents (here your spouse) also..
