  #106

Yeah guys!
Bravo..... all the best.

  #107

Columbia?!!!!!

Que rudo NTP.
You got the best IV invitation I ever heard of for an IMG.
And as newyg said: PLEASE ACCEPT THE PRE-MATCH!!! Otherwise I´ll kill you hahaha.

  #108

Actually, I did my research before applying to Columbia and Cornell.
It was good to find out that the only two IMGs there (as residents or previous residents) had gone to my medical school here in Argentina (Universidad de Buenos Aires). So I took my chances and applied.
I think we should apply and perform AS IF we weren't IMGs, to show the system that many times, even though we did not go to med school in USA, we can perform the same or even more than a fresh AMG just out of his "cotton and pillowed" reality.
Many of us guys have worked for years to reach this point. And we did receive top quality medical education (our scores show that), and we have been in the battlefield more than them too.

Is there any one who applied to Harvard longwood in Boston? IF so, did you hear any news from them?

  #114

Longwood? this place is my dream, great psychodynamic orientation which i am interested in, but alas this one will be impossible even to get an interview from

  #115

I would love to hear from them also!!
Ireceived rejections from Cambridge health alliance and MGH/McLean, but I did not hear from Longwood or South Shore.
Congratulations madmad gringringrin

  #116

hey madmad when you get IV from Yale! Don't you think it's time to erase the word "impossible" from your dictionary?

  #117

finished St Louis University IV,
nice place and IV is all about Psychiatry and to extract our personality
in the end Psychiatry in cinema was shown " old movie clippings" and discussed about the characters............its interesting and really loved the program and the faculty who put strnuous effort in assessing their applicants

NTP, Where did you do your research?

  #119

In their websites. Weill Cornell has one PGY IV from my university, and there are a couple of researchers in close contact in Columbia with the Universidad de Buenos Aires.
Tomorrow I am flying to Chicago to sit for Step 2 CS! Wish me good luck and I will be in touch as soon as I can!

14. Baylor gringringrin

  #121

NTP,

wink
I will stay in Chicago during December and I will stay with my inlaws in the suburbs.
Good Luck in your IVs!!!

  #123

16. Yale - Adult

17. St Elizabeth Hospital, DC wink

But my calendar crushes with available dates!! sad

  #124

newyg, my calendar is also crushing. I will have to cancel SUNY Downstate to be able to go to Baylor (I think it is worth the try, ain´t it)

  #125

hey neurotopsych and newyg, congratulations for your great IVs.
neurotopsych, a question for you! How do you evaluate programs? Based on NIH ranking, SUNY downstate is the 30th and Baylor is the 73th! I know NIH is mostly based on the power research of each program. But I believe the better research the better program...
Do you have any idea to share with me about how to look at the programs and how you concluded that Baylor is better that downstate?!
Thanks in advance,
