Come on newyg, I am sure we will meet in some IV!! I am flying to Chicago next week, to the bitter cold winter, leaving my beautiful Buenos Aires with 30 C and the swimming pool, and the cold beer in my hand and my girlfriend on the other!!!

Actually, I did my research before applying to Columbia and Cornell. It was good to find out that the only two IMGs there (as residents or previous residents) had gone to my medical school here in Argentina (Universidad de Buenos Aires). So I took my chances and applied. I think we should apply and perform AS IF we weren't IMGs, to show the system that many times, even though we did not go to med school in USA, we can perform the same or even more than a fresh AMG just out of his "cotton and pillowed" reality. Many of us guys have worked for years to reach this point. And we did receive top quality medical education (our scores show that), and we have been in the battlefield more than them too.

In their websites. Weill Cornell has one PGY IV from my university, and there are a couple of researchers in close contact in Columbia with the Universidad de Buenos Aires. Tomorrow I am flying to Chicago to sit for Step 2 CS! Wish me good luck and I will be in touch as soon as I can!

He intentado contactarme con una conocida, pero al no recibir respuesta, creo que me quedaré con Hostelling Internation en downtown Chicago. Saludos y mucha suerte en el CS. MACaddict

hey neurotopsych and newyg, congratulations for your great IVs. neurotopsych, a question for you! How do you evaluate programs? Based on NIH ranking, SUNY downstate is the 30th and Baylor is the 73th! I know NIH is mostly based on the power research of each program. But I believe the better research the better program... Do you have any idea to share with me about how to look at the programs and how you concluded that Baylor is better that downstate?! Thanks in advance,
