yes... it ideally should not exceed 1... PDs are getting over 3000 applications... reading a four page personal statement is too much!!!

Cut it dear! I bet it is really good to your eyes but for the PD and anyone else reading it is lack of respect for ones time! No more than one page!!

All my Personal statements are between 500-600 words, easy to write, easy to read and easy to defend!

Thanks for the very helpful hints. I also have another question, I had a paper which had been accepted as poter in the US but I didnt have the chance to travel to the US and so I never presented this poster, so what is your suggestion regarding filling up the ERAS application? thanks Layla

hmm... I personally dont think that it counts to your CAF or CV in ERAS but I guess you can always discuss it at interviews or something. One person I have appreciated on this forum for focussed and helpful answers is Sarika. Sarika please add and correct...

Just an after thought. I have four places I was invited to, mainly in Europe, but could not attend because they rejected complete funding for travel and accomodations. I have their interview letters and if the subject crops up, I am planning to use them. So I know exactly whats bothering you layla. Lets see what sarika and others suggest ...
