Reading KAPLAN 5-day CSA notes I came across the CAGE questions acronym/mnemomonic in addiction cases. Can anyone explain it? Thanks a bunch!

need to CUTDOWN
feeling ANGRY about his drinking
feeling GUILTY about his drinking
taking Earlymorning drink as a eye opener! WHETHER OR NOT ALL THESE ARE PRESENT IN AN ALCOHOLIC? ask them. that is it!
