Sorry about talking about the opposite, but IT IS ILLEGAL TO EXCHANGE DATES... You have to cancel you appointment and then try to re-schedule it, that's the policy... All other actions are violations of this official rule.
You (as well as the person you are engaging in this game) may have much more problems with USMLE then simply being unable to take the exam...

I don't know about being illegal. They're welcome to try it, but there is a good chance that they'll get screwed in the end.
Your trusting a person you don't know, have never met, who says "yes I have the date your looking for." So you guys agree to log in at 3 am, and first hope that no one else is awake waiting for you. And second what if you cancel your date, and the other person lies and really has something for june of next year, instead of what they told you. Now what?
