I don't know about being illegal. They're welcome to try it, but there is a good chance that they'll get screwed in the end. Your trusting a person you don't know, have never met, who says "yes I have the date your looking for." So you guys agree to log in at 3 am, and first hope that no one else is awake waiting for you. And second what if you cancel your date, and the other person lies and really has something for june of next year, instead of what they told you. Now what? but g'luck with it.
