I have heard of "NEW" programs such as just accredited.
What are your opinions on such programs... They don't have much of a track record, but on the other hand their criteria for applicants won't be as strict and the competition would be much less compared to the other programs.
Any thoughts/ideas?
Anyone know of any such newly opened programs?

I guess these ones are good targets for scramble... At least that what will try to hit if I don't match...

I'll be interviewing at a new program (started 2007). I think its kind of exciting - kind of like a blank slate upon which you can participate in writing the story. I'll have a lot of questions for them at the interview though.

Hi chiqui,
How do we go about finding new programs? Some of them don't even have a website yet and aren't listed on ERAS. How did you find your program?

I don't have any list... Like I said I have only "heard" of new programs...
such as this one in the news:

The new program I'm interviewing at is through ERAS. When I looked at the list of programs, I saw one I had never heard of. I went to their website and realized it was new, having started this year. So match 2008 will be their second match. I'm not meeting with them until december, so I'll let you know then what I find out.

doc virgo, that program ibelieve is osteopathic. and it says 'no international medical graduates' . so i guess no programs can be picky too

Oh, I didn't know that... thanks for posting... Yes, as I have learned now some of the "new" programs can be picky as well... I'm just brainstorming ways of getting into residency which are outside the box, so don't mind me.
