Any suggestions of how to save couple of $$ on interview travel, hotels, transportation, taxi, food, tickets, etc ??

book your flight early
check www.sidestep.com, southwest, jetblue, and ata for cheap flights. But you need 3 week in advance to get those nice $39-59 flights.
check www.hotwire.com, and www.travelocity.com for cheap hotels
If you know your going to need a flight, hotel, and car. Then www.lastminute.com sometimes has some really good deals on three, or any combo of two.
food - McD's dollar menu, stay at days inn and you get free brekfast, if you have a AAA membership you save $10 on hotel costs.

and will maybe buy amtrak 15days or 1 month rates...
McD's dollar menu is by far the best suggestion hahaah

Try to get an interview buddy and cut costs- i found one on this forum and we split the hotel and cab costs- meaning we saved as much as we spent- 80 $ in total!

they show all hot deals and coupons, and they change their hot deals for hotels, air tickets, etc. daily
Good and cheap food in SBARRO (italian cuisine)
Look for locations in GOOGLE

! Hotwire is now on ezprint-coupons under travel section with more discount than on their own web site. On ezprint-coupons (for hotwire) you save 60%, on hotwire itself you save 25%. Very strange - same web site, different discounts.
