Feels good to be back after a long break!
Has anyone gone through the process of applying from a PGY1 position to a different program for the PGY2 position? I am planning to do something along those lines and would greatly appreciate if anyone out there could help me.
I do not have many choices and for family reasons I have to confine my choices to just onestate in particular. If I cannot find a vacant spot there I will have to continue at my current position. In case you are thinking along the same lines we could discuss the matter further?
Does anyone here have the answers to the following questions.
a.) How competetive are the PGY2 openings? I know they are probably not even half as competetive as getting into a PGY1 position but still any insight and/or personal experiences would help.
b.) Do I have to provide my present PD's recommendation letter as part of my application? I have gotten conflicting views regarding this one question. Thanks for any one who responds.
