Hi.
Could anyone please shed some light on the quality of this interactive CD. I have my exam in a couple of days and I'm in sort of a dilemna as to which ccs study source to go for.

there is no "interaction".....usmlesteps123 has some interactive practise..but i guess UW+usmle.org material is enough

yes, atleast for me..others have found it useful..but i hate the world interactive that it proclaims...the only interaction was me clicking the next button..

Shaher's CD is very helpful in terms of explaining the sequence of events, advancing the clock and management orders. If CCS is your weakness, this is the way to go.

Shahar's CCS CD:
Don't waste your Money to buy this CCS CD
It does not Like USMLE SAMPLE CD.
Shahar's CCS CD you can't do Anything, All are
SET_UP by Author, Every Lab test or Patient Care
FIXED by Author. BUT in USMLE SAMPLE CD
content like original STEP-3 CCS exam, You can put every
data from self and you can Analysis what's wrong
or right and you can make decision by yourself
But shaha'rs CD all are FIXED , you can change Nothing.
Many step-3 Examinees are totally Disappointed after buy this CD , Because ,Dr Shaha'rs never said this fault in his Ebay website ,he just Hide this for his business.

how come it is different from what you expect it to be. i thought the
software run like real-simulation sample usmle cd where u can input orders
and see the progress as u make those orders. but with shaher's cd,
everything is set and u cannot put any orders. it's more like presentation
type, not real-simulation. is this sorta the format ebay has been selling??

shaher's CD is a mjust for ccs, regarding the post you mentioned. this is one post worte by someone with agenda.

thank u to this forum and its members, I passed. this was my third attempt. first time 71 then 74(183). when i got 183 i was depressed. what the hell! they failed me by just 1 mark. anyways then i studied for 7 months starting with swanson twice except for epidimeology and psych. then did q book and got 66 avg combined in all the tests. i did not do q bank. i did uw twice for this prep and twice for the previous two preps. its a good investment. i did ccs from shaher's(v.good) and usmle123(v.v.good). in the exam i messed up two cases very badly,the first case i had no idea what the dx was and then i messed up MI case by not giving clot busters,actually i knew i should but i got scared and did not and gave it after 1 hr of simulated time has passed. and i did not get bld and ux cx for one pt with 102F. and gave antibiotics after the comp prompted me that the pt was not getting better. rest of the cases were o.k,my performance on the score card was high in ccs with its tail touching borderline. I would suggest to do shaher's twice and usmle123 ccs cases as many times as possible. and coming to mcq, i left 4 q in each block on both days. i mean i marked A for all of them but i did not read the Q. READ uw like text book not simulated exam. It does not matter if you got 45 or 55, just read in tutorial mode and system wise. i really helps. after this post i donot want anybody to post a q about correlation between UW,NBME and step 3, because there is none, iam serious. i got 350 in nbme,last time i had 310. If i can pass, anyone can. believe me, ANYONE CAN. i cant stress that point enough. and plz pray to whichever god you believe in, bcz it helps.It really does.

hi ! everyone has his own opinion
i have my exam in two weeks and i found this cd to b very useful in understanding what to do and when to do.
it gives better understanding about how to navigate in the software eg, when to send patient home, when to schedule an appointment.
i agree that the main drawback is that u cant do anything else except pressing the next key.
