You need that to participate in match...
The status will be verified (and posted) on the last week of February... If you are verified, you will participate in match, if not - your name will be erased from the list of those who participate, but you still will be sent a list of unfilled programs to participate in scramble

ERAS and NMRP are different institutions, you need to register for both - ERAS for the application/interview process and NMRP to match, read also about the rules and the additional fees when it comes to making the rank of order lists.
go to https://se rvices.nrmp.org/R3/Home/Login/Login.cf.... pay the 40 bucks and you will be registered for the match! deadline is I think Dec 1. you can still register later, it's just more expensive.
@dr123: I think it takes several days to verify your status with the ECFMG, give it time.

to dr123: I signed up for NRMP on Oct 22, and my status is still NOT VERIFIED. In the email that NRMP sent, it says that they check with ECFMG once a week for verification. So, let's wait for another week or so.
