The first time pass rate for IMGs is greater than 80%. Considering the fact that there are so few review courses, I think its fair to assume that the majority studied on their own. The fact of the matter is that all the info you need to pass this exam is readily available on the internet. That includes both the clinical side and the communication aspect. If english isnt your 1st language, I doubt kaplan will help you master it in 6 days. Find out what you need to pass the exam, get a partner, and practice, practice practice.

i think these last 2 posts are very informative [even if they are contradictory!]. thanks so much, babydoc and jazmil.

i guess i need to figure out how good the available books are, and how good a practice partner i'm lucky enough to find. not to forget my own individual efforts.

thanks a million, guys.

Seems to me that one more, but important point was not mentioned, this kind of prep courses ( Kaplan CS, or others ) are very useful for older graduates, who were not in touch with clinical medicine, patients for years, definitely it would boost their confidence, and polish their skills !
