Hi,
I have an IV at Henry Ford, Detroit on 2nd Nov and I am reaching The airport( DTW) around 7.00pm.. I wanted to know whether it is safe for a female to hail a cab in the night?.. I have heard a lot of stories about Detroit and am just worried too much about it.. I need to travel around 30min in the cab?.. Any body know about any other options?..

DTW is in a safer neighbourhood (southern suburbs) some 35-40 minutes away from the downtown .. if u're arriving at smith terminal, try and get one of the 'airport taxis' (mostly owned/operated by indians/pakistanis) i think u can get one from the newer Mcnamara terminal as well ... all i know about the hotel that henry ford arranges for candidates is that it is near campus .. that area is not one of the safest around so it would be advisable to stay indoors after dark  ..
are these IM or FM interviews?

frm my experience of bein there and i/ving @henry ford id say its perfectly ok
i did go out after dark (We were jus 2 girls)
Not bad at all..
