what is the function of COX 1 AND COX 2 enzymes ?

COX-1.....normal house keeping..  ..platlet function..homeostasis..,renal blood flow..gastric mucosal integrity..
COX-2...mainly by inflammtory cells....but also few others like colon ca pathogenesis etc...

anne research is something to confuse us (students) still let us know few of them...
they have found COX-2 activity is important in inflammation also in tumor angiogenesis....so now COX-2 inhibitors are under research for use in colon and lung cancers...
