Put feb as your date of graduation. That way you will look relatively recent graduate.IMGs are like car models for them. The newer the better.

technically speaking it's when you got your result.

Sorry I couldnt help it but from what i assumed from your initial statement was that you are asking to write something different from whats written in the Degree. which is basically wrong. As i have said earlier my friend the PDs and PCs do read and tally the information written and supplied.

So writing something which will strike them as new would be an asinine thought. Plus dont you know that PCs and PDs dont like people lying to them. If your are going to advise someone to provide false information then i think you should refrain from doing. Although if it was your attempt at humor then i sorry the joke wasnt understood or punchline wasnt delievered as effective as u hoped it to be,

Dear new_n_lost.I do not agree that PDs & PCs read everything. They just don't have time or inclination. If they read through everything they will not miss some genuine deserving candidates.Except for few high scorers i.e.more than 95s all is based on references and recommendations.I agree that it is not good to lie but they force you to lie.A personal statement is nothing but a bunch of lies arranged to impress those all powerful PDs and PCs.I speak from personal experience.
