rate limiting enzyme is HMG-Co A synthase...for synthesis..
enzyme absent in liver is thiophorase..(succinylcoA :acetoactate coA transferase)
what is ratelimiting for lysis of ketone bodies :roll: :?:

yes i agree even i couldnot find out about key enzyme for ketogenolysis except thiophorase which is absent in liver but present in peripheral tissues.

as far as i remmeber , hmg coA Lyase (HMG CoA to acetoacetate!!)is an eng in ketogenesis n not in ketolgenoysis!!! :roll: correct me if i m wrong

I'd have to agree with you, oddissy4u. HMG CoA lyase should be in the ketogenesis pathway.

Yup HMG Co A Synthase and Lyase both r in the Ketogenic Pathway.
Cant figure out the Key enzyme in Ketogenolysis
