If you read Iserson's or First Aid, you'll note that a as the years progress, so do the number of spots (depending on field). I just think it's a bit early to think the season is over with. We still got NOVEMBER, DECEMBER, and JANUARY. A lot of places are interviewing their first batch on selectees; heck, I havent even attended one yet ! More will come in November and in December.........and Im sure we ALL will have something to boast about come March. Good luck everyone ! just a humble observation hopefully it'll turn out to be wrong

I guess i can't blame my score , but ofcourse I think it is the lack of USCE that's getting me. I tried to get some but no luck. So far only 2 ivs. stopped counting my rejections. Started calling PCs and the all sound nice when conveying that my application has been rejected. So I am going to call all programs i have applied to, so that I don't live in false hope that all those non responsive prog are still considering my application.

tropmed, echo the good luck regarding calling PD's. Let me know how it goes - whether they were nice or mean in responding to you. I have, so far, 3 IV's and 6 rejections. Starting to get worried and may join you in phoning/bugging PD's.

I didn't get to talk to any PDs. All the PCs I spoke to were very friendly. I usuall call them towards the end of the day (after 3pm). They would either ask my last name or AAMC ID and pull up my application and give my status. So far I have IV from 2 IM. Applied to 110 prog

What do they say when you ask the status? Do they seem annoyed or friendly in general? When did you send in your application? I think the second round of IVs are coming around so hang in there.

I wonder if Hawaii as well as Alaska are hard to get into?

i got the IVs before calling. They sound very friendly when answering my call. i just ask them for the status of my application and then the reason for rejection. Mostly I called FM prog. as i had applied to them as back ups. haven't called any IM yet. Most of the FM rejected bcos of year of grad. North MS Tupelo FMprog ...not licensed to train IMGs...didn't see that in their website

thanks everybody for helping keep the spirits high. its very true that low scorers like me are not interviewed in the first batch and even that first batch of 99 scorers is not done with IVs yet. so have faith in God and hang in there. i think i have the weakest credentials with 1 attempt in step 1, 2 attempts in step 3, low 80s and i need visa too. but still i m positive about it. and so should you all be. btw, can anybody please tell me if attempts at step 3 affect your application? i mean can they too kill you?
