People I need some opinion regarding IVs in January. And due to marriage and other ceremonies planned it has to be within January.
I am wondering how common it is for programs to interview IMGs in January?

Reason I am asking is I am planning a visit to India in month of January. And it has to do with completing extra two weeks of rotations required in psych for NJ permit.

I have learned from FREIDA website that the iv period lasts untill jan 31st for many program. But have you heard of people getting calls in January? I am expecting to be ECFMG certified by Dec and I already have applied with all credentials I have.

Should I plan the trip?

a lot of progs interview in january...esp if u get calls NOW im sure a good part of the dates wud be in jan...esp if u were on the waiting list of the progs...since dates in dec nd jan are already taken....some progs interviewed even in first week of feb last year....

Really....!!!! but the last date for declaration of seats available to NRMP by the programs is usually January 31st...may be they wanted to take candidates out of match...

January is a HOT month in terms of interviews. Id leave Nov, Dec, and Jan open if I were you.

I hav 1 i'view scheduled for Feb 1...dats the only date they gave me!!!!

i have an IV scheduled on Feb12...their choices were Feb 12 or Feb 16!

I have one IV in Jan 17, they only offered 3 days in Jan

Jan 31st is the deadline for programs to tell NRMP that how many positions they are putting for match.. programs have to submit ROL at the end of Feb.. inteviews in Jan are common, Feb often but not rare...
