Hello guys, I was wondering if u anyone help me with these NBME questions. I just wanna clarify the ans. so if u can help me, i would really appreciate it. 1. 1. 37 yr old man brought to ER after falling flight of stairs. Acute alcohol intoxication and bruise over Left Temple bone and bruised L. Wrist. over next 30 mins his consciousness deteriorates and L.pupil becomes dilated. what is the cause of it? A. cerebral contusion B. facial N. compression C. Middle Meningeal artery laceration D. Bridging V. laceration E. temporal A. laceration 2. 73 years old man brought to ER with back pain. history of HTN and controlled by diuretics. X ray shows osteoblastic lesion. diagonsis? A. met. lung cancer B. malignat lymphoma C. Prostate Cancer D. Multiple Myeloma. E. osteosarcome. tnx guys,

1---->c bruise over temporal bone is the clue 2---->c prostate produces osteoblastic lesions

the area of temporal bone with parietal bone called PTERION is the area most commonly ass. with Mid meningeal artery laceration causing epidural hematoma causing pressure on undrelying brain n pushing it towards the right side causing ipsilateral III nerve compression which menifests as dilated (blown out) pupil osteoblastic lesion due to prostate n back pain is also due to mets... HTN might be due to renal failure which is usually due to post renal causes
