hi all,
i gave my step 3 oct 16/17...and have screwed my ccs cases big time.....never got to write a diagnosis,cases never improved....and actually 2 worsened....my first day was bad too....i know i will have to take my exam again..but any motivation wud be helpful...have no interview yet....gave step -3 so that it could improve my cv..but now that the score is gonna be automatically transmitted ...will have no chance ever this year ....
i have been thru rough ride since past year...and this one is like seems like end of life for me..have been praying and guess even god cant ever help me pass...

Try to stop thinking of bad things beforehand, it'll do nothing but cause anxiety. The performance on these exams is very difficult to predict and you may as well pass. I've leant along the way that one bad thought leads to another and it really makes no sense living under constant stress each day. Do something fun or enjoy some time with friends or family take a trip or just be lazy when you can, and forget about step3 until you get your score report.

Hey,
Don't worry dude! I worked as Clinical Skills tutor in Kaplan and I have a pretty good idea how the system runs.
For this exam, It is not just about whether patient is improving or not. It is about your orders, if the computer has your orders in its list, it will give you a mark.... so even though you got the diagnosis wrong, you will still get a lot of points for your investigating orders!
Trust me, if you have cleared CS, than CCS cases are graded much easily... because of its ridiculous pattern and not just internists but even psychiatrists and others should clear this exam.
As AlexaE was telling, forget about Step3 and have fun. Things will happen at their own pace!

Dear adrenalin, I know how u feel and it´s ok to take into consideration the fact of failing if the performance wasn´t that good..., but still there is a chance, so don´t futurize so much, especially because this path can feel extremely overwhelming if you do that..., try to stay in the now...
As alexa posted, don´t get into the negative thought process, since in would bring into your life exactly that, negative stuff, try, try to be positive and look at the bright side of every situation..., I know it sounds much easier than it is to do it...

well this is written in tribute to those who like me joined this forum to get some insight into the step-3 -review,support, prep n' all that....well..i studied 3mnths on & off...did kaplan step 3 videos to get in the groove ...did step-3 kaplan notes jus once...but didn't help me...so my main priority remained step-2ck kaplan notes,did crush twice....uw-got average of 58%timed mode ..planned to take nbme but did not ....for ccs i jus did...uw ccs and followed the approach for ccs on this forum.....
1st day drains yu out....esp. the quest concerning emergencies..'cuz they are pretty lengthy...so i followed the approach of reading the last line first and glimpse of the choices ...and then read the question...'cuz i was scared i dint want to run out of time...was dead tired after the first day..went home and gave a reading to brief notes i had made from the uw -ccs..and slept of
2nd day...i heard was easy..cuz yu get few quest to attempt..true but had 2 blocks of emergency ...which drains out yur mind and two blocks of ethics,,...which again were lengthy...nad had no idea of max questions...screwed up ccs badly...(read post on ..screwed up ccs badly)
but the most important is i am firm beliver in god and i prayed a lot before during and for 3 weeks after the exam ...i have never been more miserable in life ever as i was after giving this exam...and the most important ...was my supportive wife...without whom i would not even have been able to prepare for the exam ..
let me tell yu guyz i never expected to pass....but unexpected happened... I PASSED GOT 83/202....AM SO HAPPY NOW CUZ NO MORE USMLE..I AM DONE WIT IT AND WAS A VERY STRESSING JOURNEY...I WISH ALL YU GUYZ..READING THIS POST..BEST OF LUCK ...MAY GOD FULFILL ALL THAT YOU DESIRE..

oh! this is the kind of happy stry we all like,congratulations ,that is an awasome score.
wish would have something to say in the same lines after 2 weeks(my exam was on 3/5 nov)

thanx to yu all....and yes i thought that i had performed my worst on ccs and emergency but result shows that i performed my best on both these ...i am done with my examz but still some how dont know as to how these examx marked..
