Program Name: Marshfield Clinic Date of Interview: early nov. Where did u stay, nearest hotel, travel etc: Baymont Hotel for 50 dlls/night, nice hotel very near the hospital Level of "stress" (0-10): 3 How many interviewers: 4 How many applicants: 3 Tour included visits to: ICU, ER, call rooms, cafeteria, library, clinic, wards, CCU Questions asked: mostly they want you to ask questions about the program, they ask why did you apply there, tell me about yourself?, 10 years from now?, how you cope with stress? Happy residents: yes / no / ? : yes, very happy Atmosphere: they seem to get along just fine, faculty seem very approachable, PD is veeeery nice. City, how is living there?: well it's a small town, veeery cold, no shopping, dirt cheap housing, people are very nice, few restaurants and bars, ohh there is a bowling alley haha.. Research oriented: yes / no / ? yes, very... lost of funding for research, very encouraged Prematch offers?: yes, I think so Visa sponsored?: yes What I liked the most?: The hospital is amazing, great facility. residents seem very taken care of, PD listens to them, nice atmosphere What should be improved?: no fellowships there, hard to get one once you graduate Rate experience (0-10): 9 Conclusion: Seems to be a great program, very didactic, research encouraged, no scutwork. But if you dont like small towns maybe this is not for you. No fellowships!!!
