A 19yr male has h/o athletes foot but is otherwise healthy when he develops the sudden onset of fever n pain in the rt foot n leg.on physical examination the foot n leg are fiery red with a well defined indurated margin that appears to be rapidly advancing. there is tender lymphadenopathy. most likely organism to cause this infection is?

A- staph aureus

B- tinea pedis

C- strepto pyogenes

D- mixed anaerobic infection

good Q , I saw it in Kaplan notes . Erysipelas involves both the dermis and epidermis and most common caused by Group A Strep.
