Dear BBB, Is there a general tendency amongst programs not to call applicants who interviewed with them last year?? Are there any fliters for that like old aamc id nos. or something?? Why i ask is that top 5 progs from my ROL last year havnt replied but they have sent out interviews to others. My CV is pretty much better than last year's...but donno...not askin for prediction of chances or anything but just ur take/opinion on this.... thanks for your time in advance hey guiding light.....

Good question... I was wondering the same thing. If it doesn't work out this year, should I bother applying to the same programs next year? In all fairness, I think they DO have to at least download and look at each application... You can see in your ERAS "track applications" area if they downloaded your info so far. Other than that in my opinion I think it would be too much work to try and weed out repeat applicants, plus they might miss out on someone who fits their criteria because when you apply the next year, you will most likely have something extra in your application which may have been missing the year earlier.

Prader-willi U know, there is definitely sm kind of prejudice bout it amongst programs. I am witnessing a couple of cases like urs myself. It really is very unfair or rather stupid I'd say coz its ultimately costing the program as well to lose a good candidate.

This answer is not pleasant, but it is the truth, and I'll say it as nicely as I can. If you interviewed with a program last year, and you didn't match with them, doesn't that mean that you weren't high on their list for one reason or another? True, your application might be stronger, and true, they could be loosing a great candidate, but something didn't click between the program and you. Is it going to be the program's loss? Probably. Another scenerio? They ranked you, you didn't rank them and they saw that you were unmatched from last year. Programs put a lot of time and finances into this (as do applicants) and they want the best fit for their programs. Now I'll go hide before the %^&* hits the fan.

Thanks for your honest opinion bbb. -I have a similar question -What if you applied to a place and didn't even get an interview with them... In this case should you still apply to the same program for unfilled spots during scramble time, or if they have filled all their spots, should you apply again next year or just not bother? Do they really screen and keep a track of applicant names who were rejected interviews? (ok, sorry that was more than one question)

(ok, sorry that was more than one question) Not this program - that means that I would have to track over 3000 applicants from year to year. NOT in my lifetime!! Can you apply for the scramble? That's not my strong point. My categorical program has filled in the match since I started working here a million years ago.
