Hello guys, I would like to thank everybody in this forum, you were such a great gift, your posts helped me alot to be much more confident as I can.. I studied FA twice, practiced the cases with a medical student, 28 cases had been practiced with him. My exam in LA: it started at 9 am, proctors were so nice, and exan centre was fine... I had 12 encounters, no child parents nor telephone cases, I did knocked the door in each case, greet the patient in his family name, proper adressing and smile for all . showed sympathy and empathy with the pain and concern. drape all, washh hand in all cases , warm hands in all, ask permission for every step in examination, shake hands, introduce my name and postions in all cases tie again them, leg extention and head elivation when approbriate , did CV and respiratory for all patients, I did transition sentence in each step in history or examination, i gave my impression for all patients, 2-3 DDs and work up plan, I did counselling about smoking in 1 case. alcohol CAGE in 1 case and HTN advice in one case , Almost all cases i went throgh all history components, CC, HPI. PMH.PSH.FH.Medications, Allergies, Social Hx. I did answer all patients questions appropriately, I did ask every one if have any othet questions, and helped them during sleeping , leaning forwards, and asked them about thier comfort allways. I finished all rooms 30 seconds before the time I did fundoscopy for one headache case and otoscopy for 1 dizzy case I worte all the notes in time with nearly 90% of the time my DDs and workup were correct. WHAT I DIDNT DO WELL: i forget to ask SIG E CAPS in one confused case and sleepless, and didnt do mental exam there it was the first case I didnt do Cranial N exam in one case with chest trauma and jaw trauma.. i didnt counsell another case with smoking , another with HTN, and 2 with marjoana and one with Alcohol, but allready done with others... My notes, were the most thing concerning me, The presesnt illness was nearly complete, i was mentioning the Systing review imporetant + o - in the HPI and didnt write ROS in all cases since it was involved . in examination, some tips i forgot to write even i did, and VS not in all cases if normal. there was no space for the FH, MH, SH , allergy , Social to be written in the bullets type, so i worte them 2 - 3 lines , wish they can read then , i think it was readable. i didnt find any problem to undewrsatb the language nor the patients ... what do u think guys, is it something good that i did... im scary to the death, my CK after less than 2 months and i will not be able to concentrate, pleeeeeezzzzzz gimme ur feed back wish u all the best

I think you have done more good than bad. how ever you are your best judge. I had one man who was so rude to me, I just didn't manage to break the ice. He was a head ache case and I had to do a nervous examination. He only kept getting more annoyed with me. I ended up shaking hands with a back pain lady which is an absolute no no in this exam I can tell u all the mistakes I made in each section and yet I cleared. I think what is important is that you remember that you are a doctor. You have to communicate well. be compassionate and reasonable. if u don't know some thing say so. If the over all effect was OK..u are good to go. I suggest forget abt the exam for now. There is really nothing you can do. I would take a nice break. Bye for now. Good luck for your result.

Relax. I made some of the same mistakes (maybe more) and I passed. You don't have to be perfect in CS. In fact, you don't even have to feel you did well. As far as you didn't have any communication problems, you finished most cases and wrote legible notes, then I think you're good. My advice is to forget about it till your reporting date. Worrying about it won't help you and according to the statistics, the vast majority of the time its unnecessary. I had to start preparing for ck immediately after my cs so I'm speaking from experience. Good luck.

hi man. i made some of the mistakes which you also did e.g. forgot to counsel about smoking in only 1 pt, forgot to ask about elder abuse in 1 case, didnt do complete mental status exam in one patient and a few other things. however i communicated well with all the patients and I feel i took them all into confidence (even the rude ones im hoping i will pass but am not sure. i think the people above are right. now its done and its no use worrying about it. we should relax for now (or whatever else you have to do) and worry about it when the result comes
