I dont know where to start this post. I've been studying for over a year now. I was ready to take the exam (atleast I thought i was) and took NBME #3 in july and scored only 300.
I was deeply upset and mad at myself. I picked up the peices slowly and started to study again. I studied everything again as best as i could.
I was now ready to take the exam by the end of this month and decided to take NBME #2... again I scored quite bad. This time I got 350.
i've taken this exam 2ice before too and am very very disappointed in myself. Maybe something aren't meant for everyone. I just can't stop crying right now, because I don't know what else to do.
So here I am asking all of you to please help me..... please.
I've been studying for so long I feel burnt out too now, because again, i thought I was on my last lap.

find a study partner, and start drilling the info back and forth. obviously studying by yourself isn't working, so it's time to try something different. Go down to Kaplan center, and see if there is anyone there, go to the local med school, the library anywhere. USMLE step I people, are like roaches, they're everywhere.
you can keep banging your head against a brick wall, trying to get through. Or you can try something else, and just walk around it.

Did you do a lot of questions? Kaplan? Usmle world?

good advice from doc750. you must change your tactic. doing it the exact same way all over again is unlikely to be beneficial.

hey kk21..
dont give up on something u wanna do soo badly.. try a different method or maybe a new book or something.. i have been thru this, lost my step one now preparing for it again.. i know its easier said than done but u need to be strong, try to identify where u went wrong and work on that..
get your concepts right, if u think kaplan is not enough do some other book, and do a lot of questions, A LOT OF THEM.. if u have done studying subject wise try system wise this time or even better study with someone..
dont give up soo easily, try to figur out what went wrong and work harder this time.. good luck and god bless u...

well ,hye i dont know what to say much,but em very confident about technique of having study partner ,diveide study into sessions,adopt a reverse technique,i mean do question resource UW and Kaplan q bank,u know do kaplan q bank first ,as it woyuld help u learn basic details and UW will take u to integration of knowledge and strategy to understand and asnwer a question
stick to 1 resource either kaplan otr hiogh yield,i wiuld suggest kaplan.... ..........with these 2 question resources kaplan q bank and UW,revise and revise,strat doing one system or subject, mark all questions are incorrevt ,read details of all choices ,and revise all marked better ,keep narrowng ur marked question,u will keep on improving ,ge a study partner for question review
