Hello Guyz,
The exam was TOUGH docs.
My credentials:
Step1 - 99
Step2 - 96/ CS cleared.
Grad 2006. No extra experience, just theoretical knowledge.
My prep:
Gave my Step2Ck- Aug 1st/2007.
Step3- Oct 16/17.
Hardly for 1 month, did not prepare seriously!
Books read:
Only Step 2 CK Kaplan books.
Q banks: Only USMLE WORLD( timed)- 58% once.
About Exam:
Questions: 5-10 per block- you have to scroll down to finish reading.
20-25 Q's- 7-8 lines.
5-10- were 2-3 lines.
CCS:
Its a cake walk, don't worry about them. You just have to practice Usmle world cases in the CD software. Just practice all of them in the CD. Do not waste time blindly reading, just practice once! Easier than CS exam.
MY ADVICE:
1. If the Q is too long, mark it and move to the next one. Trust me, it will work, you won't miss 2-3 liner Q's at the end. I could not read around 12 Q's in total and now repenting.
2. Read the last line of the Q first and than read it from beginning. Or else you will be reading Q more than once and wasting time!
3. Revise USMLE World q's. I could not do it.
About the content they were testing:
It is not theory, its lot to do with clinical knowledge and Step2 book knowledge is probably not sufficient to score in 90's !!
I wish I will pass the exam, I know mere passing spep3 is not sufficient from this years match. Hope I will also match this year.
Till now got 10 IM interviews and 2 medpeds/ no USCE/need visa.

I meant from the USMLE Practice CD that we get. In the CD we have 5 practice cases; but irrespective of the cases given there, you can practice the ones in USMLE WORLD! I'm not sure if its still clear .....

Thanks medocuk. I'm eagerly waiting for my result. Don't know how much I will score, hope with gods blessings I will end these exams comfortably. So, f***ing tired of all these exams and unpredictable match process!!

u'll do good ea,considering ur other credentials.
I had my part 1 today,feel so confused over so many qts.I was always frightened by the length of qts,as ppl mentioned they were tooooo long.but it was the same as u mentioned in ur post above.And even though i remember few qts,its difficult to find the answers,they were so damn confusing!but there was a whole block i completely guessed.

thanks all... i still don't know how to score good in step3 !! I don't know how much role will step3 score play in this years match? For the next match step3 is going to be the deciding one... and there is no doubt in it.
So, if your chances of matching is low in this year, think twice before taking this exam! Getting 85+ is a good one for step3.
