walmart, kmart, fast food stores, dog walker, baby sitter......
Looking for "HIRING" sign.
If you want to do some more intereasting things, try to find medical research in the hospital.
Good luck.

EKG technician, medical assistant, phlebotomist. As long as they don't ask for certification.

Then non medical , especially non research [ have dead line, need long hr with pay is only 7 hr or so hr as regular hr., & week ends depends ] , non med assistant are better. Since especially as med assistant, or even technician as soon as they know ur IMG they will demand from u as duties as MD except the prescribtion with speed [ done pt as much as possible with full hx too like in ur med yr , not as Doc short one we do ] with ur tech or secretary or receptionist job as ur original post as they hire u .

Do not get elated when they praise u re ur med knowledge is as their level MD as consultant , do as ur original duties without throw in extra as ur IMG doc experties . U will find hard not to do , especially all are praising u & give u abit raise then after they know u can do all in short time by time u already wearn out .
Ends up no study end of the day , just have to rest , recruit ur mind, soul, energy to next day job sad

If can get med related job , b strict as the duty as eg technician , or receptionist or secretory , that's is peroid. Stay away from hospital , wards, floor , clinic inside. Stay put at ur front desk if receptionist, secretory, & stay in ur tech room if as tech .

If cannot avoid any more than ur job title med related responsibilities, rather have non med related job , etc , casher [ best ] job, no med brain to use at work, just enjoy ppl, relax, no reading for day job related case , just study ur mle with fresh mind whole night at home .
Have frd pass with high marks work at casher [ woman], grocery [ man, may b abit physical, but depends on ur build ] , but researcher man got pass not high score due to his job demands.

But nothing is fixed rule, all depends, some boss medical are soooooooo generous, good .. may b catch, usually good catch , they like u to work with him as MD if they like u , ur med back ground or med knowledge or just like u , but want u to b a MD without any catch , just the good heart , want to see u as MD , do not want u to suffer as non MD or do not want u to waste ur time , life as non MD after ur 6 to 7 yr med school plus ur yrs of clinical experinces .. u make more money for them too in that case .

Also re which job ur in , medical or non medical in any specific job, all depends on u, ur job, boss, co workers, ur luck .

Sorry about long post , just the friendly advice , b4 ur too deep in ur med related job with energy drain, brain soul squueeze for unreasonable paid compare to what ur responsible hard work & job title ur not enjoy but work as MD duties with loosing yrs of study to b ur MD as dream to save lives as real MD with full authorities , & recognized, appreciated as ur MD job.

GL in ur good job hunt with able to study mle well , remember, do not lost tarck, money smell good.. by time u might ends up doing 2 jobs or long hr , & forget or post pond the study . DO NOT do that, pl do not do that. Time cannot get back with any money u have , worst is the youth or current age or grad yr u have will egtting aging which is tougher for residency as a rule.

GL GL GL happy success study to us, all nodcoolnod

I worked as an EKG tech for 20 months and never, never, NEVER was treated unfairly or required to do anything more than a regular tech because of my MD situation. Maybe I was lucky for being in a nice environment, with nice professional people, but there's a way to set limits if one needs to, and not many will expose themselves to the liability of having a person doing what he/she is not legally allowed to.

"Rudeness doesnt make one person smart. "

To new n lost,

I didn't mean to rude. Let's see Why people find jobs? Mostly for two reasons: 1, making money to keep yourself and your family alive. 2, making your life more fun.

If you are looking for a job just for money and killing time, there is nothing wrong with what kind of job you are doing. You get paid for what you have done. You think a person with M.D. should not take a job like store casher?

shaking headshaking head

I personally don't think we should classify the job by what "kind" it is, just like we should not classify a person by how much money he makes or how many years he spent in school.

"Better" or "worse" only depend on what do you need. I like to be a dogwalker, because I love dogs, and I like to have a walk with them, especially with paid. Anything wrong with that? Yea, I have M.D. in my country. I need money, like most IMG, I like dogs, I like walking. I don't feel shame about my job. I think that's my best job. But I need more money and I don't want to waste what I have paid and learnt in school, so I need to be a Dr. here. The two jobs fit what I need, which one is better? I can not tell. Can you?

I said the research is more intereasting because I think reasearch is more complicated. If you don't agree. That's fine. But I heard the medical research background will help you get the position. Who knows.

Anybody here is trying to help others. Because of the different background and culture, people always have different comprehension on the same thing.

Try not to think others negtively.

i sincerely dont think anyone has said anything so awful or hurtful. there are actually good jobs out there that are not medically oriented, and pretty much, most of these EKG and MA wont count as USCE anyways, so i think i will get a job that would put more money in my pocket.

anyways, for the records, being a dog walker is really fun and i hope i can get a job like that cos its the easiest ever. you can get an ipod or mp3 player and listen to kaplan audio while you walk the dog, LOL

if i can get that i wont mind, plus they pay well too!
thanks all
