Both Schizoid and Schizotypal Personality disorders are grouped in the Cluster ..Odd and Eccentric
Schizoid: A person who keeps to himself.....Avoids people...often have jobs that have minimum contact with other people.....
Schizotypal: A person who has an odd way about life...Mismatched clothes......magical thinking.....social isolation...weird collections...paranoid...

isnt schizoid much similar to avoidant personality disorder(or atleast it appears to me).how can we differentiate between the two?

i thinnk avoidant personality people will have desire to form relationship but they fear ..once in a while they do mingle with people...whereas schizoid people will never desire to have relations,want to be aloof all the time...therefore known as looners .
