Hi Robin, I applied to CA programs and got a call from Alameda. But my PTAL still in process... I tried reaching my PTAL co ordinator several times with no luck...What would be a good way to reach her and find out the status of my PTAL? And if possible get a letter stating the approximate date PTAL is expected.. can you please advise me on this? Thanks.

They may be annoyed if you contact them thru phone. They prefer paper mail. Send them a post mail to ask your situation, remember to write that " please inform me if you need any information or my application is not complete" Good luck

If your credentials are verified and you passed step 1+2ck, you will receive PTAL in 2 weeks.

hi aspire, i personally think the best way is to call.i tired calling the concerned person several times but with no luck.then i tired the common office number and asked to tranfer me to the concered person...thats the time i came to know that the position was taken over by new lady..yes finally i was able to speak to her she immediately told me that my file was complete and in 3-4 days i got my PTAL letter.paper mail may take longer..as i had sent a paper mail re my address change which they had never reviewed till the day i spoke to the lady. i hope this helps. gudluck

i agree with aps...I had the same problem and called the person incharge of my file. He told me that all the documents are complete and I should recv my PTAL in mail in 3-4 days. The person I talked to was very helpful. In fact I called him once before when I recd a letter stating the requirement for additional documents and he guided me thru it. SO I would say call...

hi aspire...so as i understand u have applied for PTAL in august...did u receive a receipt letter or the yellow card which u had to submit along with the appl? if u have the receipt letter/yellow card that will do for ur interviews.it takes around 3months for the process...so u may have to wait. i had applied even before i gave step2... gudluck

I did not receive a receipt and didn't send any yellow card... I got the fingerprint application form along with a letter that said they have received the documents...Is the receipt you are talking about or is there another separate one..... Thank you so much buddy...

i would also adcvice you to call them.call the cmb main office n they will transfer u to the person who is handling your application......i got my ptal late too, like just a couple of days back.and b4 that i callled all the CA programs n most of them(except 5-6) said that they do not consider applications with just the reciept,u need the actual PTAL for your application to be complete....so try calling the cmb n make sure you get ur letter as soon as possible.ignore the answering machine....call again n again....if you ve all ur usmle results n the rest of your application is complete then it shudnt take that long. as far as i know there are 2 people who handle applications at the cmb...one is a guy and the other is a girl....who works on ur applciation depends on the first alphabet of ur last name....i know the guy is very cooperative n efficient,as he handled my application.....but the girl is kinda slow,i dunno, thts what i heard.....so i hope u get the guy,hes nice n very understanding,he sends in the letter as soon as he can.... Goodluck!
