Whats the mode of action?

Indomethacin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces fever, pain and inflammation.

Indomethacin works by reducing the production of prostaglandins.

Indomethacin blocks the enzymes that make prostaglandins (cyclooxygenase 1 and 2) and thereby reduces the levels of prostaglandins. As a result, fever, pain and inflammation are reduced.

It's also used to CLOSE a PDA, but I'm uncertain of its mechanism of action for this purpose.

If I remembered right, at birth, prostaglandin level drop->PDA close. That why indomethothin will help close PDA, and use prostaglandin to keep PDA open.
