Hi. I was wondering about how it works when you apply to 2 specialties (lets say FM and IM) within the same University or community hospital program... Does FM know you applied to IM and vice versa? Does it matter? Should you tell them? Can they find out where else you applied to without asking you? -The problem is that I really like a certain University close to home, and I like 2 programs within the same University, and my chances of getting IVs there are good I believe... But I wonder if it would reflect poorly on me if they knew I wasn't dedicated to ONLY 1 field... What do you all think? Has anyone done this? Please advise. Thanks.

Have any of you applied to 2 specialties within the same hospital? What happened. Please share your experience. Thanks.

I applied to one program in each hospital only. But lots of people here applied 2-3 programs in the same hospital without any trouble, some got 2 IVs in the same hospital.

Thanks everyone... what about really small hosptial programs where everyone knows everyone.. what if you get an interview with FM and then later with IM and while touring the hospital you run into the FM people you met during your interview? Does this look bad? What are you supposed to do? Run under a patient bed and hide? JK.
