good morning medoc
late start for me and wasted last night too.... well we can't turn back the time. today is a new day.Will start with 2 cases, continue with surgery and finish it, then again two cases. ob/gyn is next for me as well. i hope you're finishing it today. how are the usmleworld questions coming along?

AlexaE: That is OK. get going now. When you say cases u mean CCS? Where are u doing those from. I am planning to do FA mini cases and the 88 UW cases. I might have 40 USStep 123 cases. might go through those if I find the time.
Mytime: the questions are fun. they are clinical. What do u do next. Having just done CK u r at the best advantage. Once u have got your result from Step 2CK ( i do think u need to takea good break) I think u can do it in less than a month.
I've read some theory. now i do another set of 25 questions.

25qs 40% I did questions that I had no clue about. Crush and FA don't have routes of drug admin in Obs and gynae.. Which corticosteroid..blah blah
Do we consider WU gold standard? Are the CK notes helping you people better? I don't even have the time to go through those notes.
Feeling very bumed out right now. Going to get some lunch and do some reading before I attempt more questions.

I personally believe that uw is a must.. I used it for each step and always found it very helpful. Abt ck notes... I took ck back in the summer so I thought the info was pretty fresh in my mind, but I just now realize that I have forgotten a lot of things, however they do come back to me very quicky with one fast read- like which breast carcinoma doesn't metastasize, or which has the highest incidence of bilaterality etc... I suggest you take maybe 4 days and look over ck notes, if you can affard taking any time off from doing questions. I think I might have underestimated the time needed for step3 prep, of course depending on what one wants to just pass or to get a nice score- and here is where loads of luck surely intervene. Anyway, do keep at it... I am still to finish surgery, and will add a few CCS uw cases later on.

IM going to take a break from Obs and gynae and read some medicine notes. No I don't have the time to do CK notes. I do want a good score.

I did 25 questions mixed unused. 48%, when the average is 52. This is going to be very tough. The questions are long and kinda tricky. More concentration. More details... AlexaE.. since I know you are studying step 2 also can I direct some detailing questions to you???
Going to a friends for dinner and TLC. Plan to read surgery and lots of medicine at her place. so see you tom

This is turning out to be a very slow saturday and I wanted to finish my first reading by this weekend. I also feel like I am coming down with a sore throat.All my room mates are down and it is pissing me off that I might be getting sick because of them. I don't get sick that easily.

finished surgery. no cases today- not in the mood.. this was a vrey slow day for me as well, i went out and wasted time.. will pick up tomorrow (i hope).its amazing how many little things you forget in such a short time...i will start obgyn tomorrow. i am taking two days for that one. will take 4 days for IM afterwards. then one fast read of crush and finish nms questions. i already took so many notes that ill need at least a week to review them carefully.

Thanks for coming around. You have made my day and made me feel so much better. I did go down with fever last night. So instead of trying to study I drank water and slept.
Now I am up and feeling a lot better. Very squeamish but lots better. Anyway I don't have a plan in place. But I want to attack surgery and then do questions.
I wanted to complete with theory by today so I can start CCS cases by tom, but that wont happen. In any case, I have 88+ 40 + 100 cases to go over which I plan to do over the next week, over and above the left behind theory and UW MCQ's.
I need strentgh and direction.
For now, some breakfast, hot milk and laundry. I shall be back when I have done some reading. I am starting soonish and will be back with updates.

AlexaE: I agree some days are better than others. How ever the idea is to tip the balance in the positive. I am sure you will find your strength in the course of the day.
What helps me is to totally close my books and not think about them at all. I get so guilty that I charge back in full throttle. But I make sure I have done some thing totally enjoyable in the interim.
Did 25 questions. 52%. have to read Surgery, Endocrinology Biostats and ethics today.
