Thanks Paheli for your input. How ever it has come to my notice that after verification the certification can still take upto 6 weeks. Someone told me 10 days.So may be I should just call the ECFMG ask them. How ever I should start today. That was the plan anyway.

so here is what the kind lady at ECFMG told me. Give us 10 days from 26th october and you should have your Certificate. by the sounds of it I can take my exam early December which should be the plan. YEAYS!

I have been sent a fedex by ECFMG which should reach me by first. I have no clue what the contents are? Could they be my documents that I sent for ERAS or could it actually be my certificate. If it is my certificate then how come Oasis didn't update it.
Anyway I got a crush step3. I have to say it is all used and horrible. I might buy me a brand new one. I don't like the book at all. I think I am getting a lil spoilt.
But I read OBS cases from Kaplans. Today shall read Gynae and Some section in Medicine.

Have started with Videos from Kaplan. Watched the orientation yesterday. Today I might not be able to do much. It is my birthday and for all practical reasons I am by myself in this city. I think I should find some thing amusing to do for myself. I have to make me happy. alrighty Bye for now.
Oh BTW i am ECFMG certified. Hence I will try and take this exam by the end of this month. Watch me.

It is a good day indeed. I am going to go get ready in a bit, but I have managed my UK reference. I shall have it by Monday. I spoke to my mentor from UK after 2 years. Was really nice to speak with him.

Yesterday I started with the videos. Started with Emergency medicine. I love that Asher guy. he is just awesome-o-zoid. Will complete Emergency medicine today and go onto peds or some such morbid subject. Some body please give me a I-love-Peads potion.

HI there. The form asks a NID or a SSN. I am an IMG with no american SSN or NID. Doesnt allow me to go ahead without this info. Any info on that account? Thanks.

With so much going in it is hard to concentrate in studying. It is really odd how every thing else becomes a priority and studying suffers the most.

I was told last night that I am losing my charm. Rightly so. I haven't really started studying though I would like to believe other wise. I am told my determination that I had for step one is dwindling. I really hope not. And this is a person who made public claims of finding a good friend in me through this forum. Muahhahahah She had no idea what she was getting into now did she????
But it has stirred up a new determination in me. While I have applied for my exam and will be sending out the final document in an hour I thought I shall share with you the application process. I have been getting lots of questions and I know finallu every one would have figured it out but I still think this information should be there some where. So how about here and the support forum.

This is where you start.
Decide whether you want to do an online application or a paper application.
I have done the online application so my post is specific to that.
Decide which board you are elidgible to take the exam from.
Have a printer connected to your comp
Have a Visa or a mastercard credit card handly.
Follow the instructions and you will get through. It is pretty straight forward. You need to be ECFMG certified.
After you pay, you get to the Certification of identity form which you print and notarize and send out. The notary doesn't need to get legalised. And the licensing board for which you are taking the exam is the same as the state through which you are applying.
ANy other questions please feel free to ask.You know anything else please fell free to add.
Regarding the FCVS, it isn't essential at the time of the application for us to taje the exam but with it's rates rising every year I have been adviced to start that process too asap.

So like I said I was very motivated by my dear friend telling me that I have lost my charm. So I have listened to peds tapes from Kaplan.
read peds, ER, Biostats and epidemiology from Crush Step 3.
Had a lovely 2days of thanksgiving. I doubt I will be able to do much until sunday as I have 3 awesome cousins around. But I think coming Monday I will get on the go.
My CD from FSMB has been delivered which is in a different city. So have to figure that out. But we will see.

Kity: Aha no charm and all..you are the goddess. tell us how you did it. All we can see on your journal is that u slept ate rested watched a movie and yet you have the score that counts. how about you share some secrets.
I should have my scheduling permit this week. I am set to go. the on and off reading has been helping but now I have to start questions. I will complete reading Crush Kaplan notes and FA this week. And start questions from next. Expect more regular updates on this journal from now on. Cheers.
