Hello guys , I imagine that all of you must be very tensed these days , but please I am in need of an advice.
Due to some health problems I won`t be able to take my Step2CK earlier than the end of June 2008 and consequently Step2CS probably somewhere at the end of August 2008.
Given the fact that it takes such a long time for the scores to be reported and that the majority of the programs are looking for ECFMG alwready certified - do you think that applying at the end of October , I might still have a decent chance of getting a few interviews or I should just pace myself and study more in hope of getting a higher Step2 grade and apply in 2009 ( for 2010).
I know it sounds pathetic , but please don`t laugh.
Thank you.

hmmm,

Most programs like their applicants to be fresh out of med school or the lest time away from graduation, so waiting for a year might lessen your chances of getting into programs that require a lesser time from graduation. Program criteria vary.

If you application looks good, as in, you have no blank period in your resume, research, etc etc then your application becomes more interesting then other who dont have such.

Depending on what kind of subject you apply for, the ECFMG certification at time of application vary. Again this varies among programs in the same subject. You can always apply by sept 1 and then update myeras as soon as the results are avilable.

Hope this helps...
