someone please help me. i do not know what to do, i am normally so optimistic, but now all i can think of is failure, and having failed step 1 on my plate.
i took the nmbe today it was a mere 50. i asked if i could post pone it, and my father refuses. he is very ignorant, and about speed, he thinks that if i dont pass, meh i will try again later. but he thinks that medicine is so easy, and if my other family members passed on the first attempt, with less study time then me, than it is doable by any means. he assumes it is like a driving test, either i know how to drive, or i don't , no in between.
i have to take my text in exactly 7 days. and i am stressed!!!!!!!
i will be honest, this is what i have done so far.
biochem have looked over it twice- done few UW for it, but i know a look over the FA will jog my memory back.
micro-took agonizing along time during my first read, it will take me a day atleast to remember it all
anat-piece of cake
behav =piece of cake
pharm-i know the cns inside and out, the intro pharm, the rest wil need a look over, its been a while
cvs-i know it pretty well, deep down, just need to quickly memorize the FA, but i understand it
cns-same as cvs-i know it well , a few hours review is okay
resp- i know it pretty well, but again need to look n memorize fa
git-just need to lok at fa n remind myself
same with renal
endo-is fine
musc/onc/hemat need to do the review asap, i cant remember aything
with this beind said.... will i most likely fail? my UW scorew have been a steady 75 , sometimes 60 sometimes 80 . do i have nay hope.
should i just hide in my room n simply memorize the crap outa FA and goljan. is it doable?
please do not give me ways to talk to my father. he is hard set in his ways. and refuses to listen.

Completely normal jitters. Stop worrying about what you don't know and think about
what you do know! Get down the high yield subjects COLD and just relax.
You will do fine!

Hi starbrite 520, first of all no need to panic ,if u panic its difficult to pace ur brain in the last days .i think if u scoring in 60 s and 70 in UW i dont see a reason to get upset, by the way u said u took NBME CAN U PLS ELABORATE WHAT IS UR SCORE IN THREE DIGIT.u must take nbme online to know where u stand,during this last 7 days u should study first aid thoroughly
plus do atleast 100 question in UW in timed mode

Star!!! Please try to relax. Remember, you have to be very cool and composed in the actual test and that will take you through. If you panic in the test it will screw years of preparation in a matter of seconds!!!! So keep calm. I don't know much about nbme so cant suggest you on that! But I think you should not postpone the test.

Heyy, chin up Starbrite! you are scoring well on UW, all you gotta do is a SUPER CRAM effort: FA, Goljan 36 pg HY and any of the important stuff you jotted down from UW.
DO NOT LET THE STRESS GET TO YOU....NOT NOW!!! you are on the last lap! Have faith, and keep striving....YOU JUST GOT TO TIE UP THOSE LOSE ENDS. And don't let your mind wander to any negative thoughts.....just stay calm, strong and focussed.

wow.. thank you ever so much everyone.
i expected advice telling me " you should post pone it, " and "you are really not ready".
i am shocked with such positiveness. thank you smuch. i knew my prep 4 usmle buddies would not let me down.
:S my goal is to take my FA 06 and memorize/understand it. and isntead of being all over the place, and doing what subject i prefer first, i will start from page 1, til the last page-simply.
question, i do not recall ANYTING on genetics or cell biology that i studied ages ago inmy prep.
can i simply just use FA for that all.
i did do goljan extensively but refuse to look through his long notes, and will juts do his high yield notes, at the end of each subject/organ.
thanks so much everyone. i really really appreciate everyones advice.
hopefully my FA pulls me through. i have taken notes for half of UW while studying into my FA, so my FA is well. and i have taken missin notes from kaplan and added em to my FA. so it is chunkier then most fa's but it is golden.

Thats it ,ur first aid has everything since u added notes in it .go for it extensively during last 6 days .for genetic and celleular biology u should know the UW EXPLANATIONS WELL.
go with confidence u r right there to score ggreat in this exam

hey starbrite,
dont let the tension bog u down... just stay calm. u have been scoring good on UW so just go thru the FA really well and since u have added notes in it better still...
just relax and let every word in fa get to your head.. u would do just fine...

do you know the relationship between UW scores and score in the real exam?
is this correct: UW*2.4+84= 3DIGIT SCORE
if yes,we have to put our overal correct UW score in place of UW?

no idea... but my frnds say any score above 65 is gud....above 70 pretty gud chance of getting 99...
my score so far 67%
done half of it....
i think it wil drop furthur as i`m abt 2 start pharm
