Hi guys,

Finally I can say I took the exam! I had been pushing back the test for so long, I finally wrote the exam on Friday Oct. 12.

I was honestly very nervous about the exam. I was scared I had not covered all my bases but I was pleasantly surprised on the day of the exam. Of course, the exam was hard but it was definitely doable. I took breaks after every section (about 5-10 minutes depending on how I felt). The exam center was very nice and quiet. Computer screen had a glare which gave me a headache and screen flickered at times. Otherwise ok. Had to take tylenol twice to manage my headaches.

The first two sections were my best. I felt very comfortable with the first few exams. The 6th and 7th section was probably my hardest. I was tired and starting to lose energy but thankfully able to finish. Some pictures were poor quality and unclear but the stem of the question helps. The path pictures weren't too bad. You could figure it out from the stem of the question. I did have some tricy pictures where you needed to identify the unique trait of the micro-organism in order to identify the bug. Some pictures were very easy, identify the tract, the bleed, the artery, the genetic inheritance pattern, the location of the murmur, etc.

Some questions were easy identify questions, but because I was nervous in the exam, I missed them! Please do not forget your Histo/anatomy slides, as the questions i did miss were from these areas. You dont need a deep understanding of it, but need to know the basic information needed for quick recall.

I found the Behavior/Statistic questions to be enjoyable. As everyone says patient/doctor relationship...not difficult.

I was also worried about remembering Biochem pathways and congenital defect, fortunately they did not go into too much detail. Lots of rats experiments and physio experiments requiring you to understand mechanisms.

In terms of my prep: 5 months of prep, Kaplan videos, lecture and book, Kaplan Q-bank (60%), USMLE world (52%) and NBME exams. I wish I could have done more but timeline was an issue since Im entering the match this year. If you include these prep materials, you should be fine. Pay attention to easy Anatomy information, know it cold. While I didnt score so highly on q-banks what helped me most is my memorization in last week. Antibiotics MOA, Drug S/E, Neuro lesions, and most importantly notes from wrong answers from USMLE world. Understanding why you got the questions wrong is key to understanding the material.

I am not sure how I did. But I am confidant I passed the exam. I pray to GOD for a good score. I thank him for delivering me from this exam. I give HIM all the honor and the glory...now, my score is up to HIM.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL....THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT...
