Well, I have been preparing for Step II for the past 2 and 1/2 months (average of 5-7 hours everyday). This forum has helped me a lot to focus on the right stuff. I was one of those silent spectators but then as I get closer to the end, I felt the need to document my travails. So here I am writing my daily journal. Here's what I have done so far: 1) Read Kaplan notes 2X 2) Made many flash cards, fast revision notes for key chapters 3) Finished 35 blocks of USMLE world and 10 blocks of Kaplan Qbank 4) Am starting revision of the 35 blocks of USMLE world before progressing to the last 12-13 blocks. 4) Took an NBME this morning and found out that I still have ways to go (just reaching 75 percentile) If any of you had tips for me about how to make the journey from 75 to 99 PPPLEEASSSE write to me.

I started with some high yield notes posted on this forum. These notes are awesome...makes my life so much easier......I won't need to try writing out all of the answers from UW. I can just add to these notes and personalize them. Thanks drtanvir.

Thanks for stopping by, nany and thanks for those encouraging words. I am planning on revising atleast ~250 questions a day (5 blocks) for the next 7 days. That way I can read up the 35 blocks I am done with and try to start the new blocks by next Monday. I will have to read alll the incorrect answers first and then glance through all the right ones. I hope I don't tire out.....

Going over the silly mistakes you made while doing UW blocks can make you feel like a drunk person on disulfiram - agony. But I have to go over each block, make notes and remember my mistakes to better myself. I did 3 blocks yesterday and revised my flashcards on adverse effects of drugs. Today I want to finish 5 + 2 blocks. Hopefully I attain my goal today.

I have finished revising 12 blocks in the past 3 days. Takes way longer to write notes and flashcards to revise later. I started reading Step UP along with my Kaplan notes. Seem to go hand in hand. I am planning on revising 35 blocks of UW by the 22nd and then finishing a complete revision of Kaplan notes in 9 days... IM 3.5 days Surgery 1.5 days Psychiatry 0.5 days Biostatistics 0.5 days OBG 1.5 days Pediatrics 1.5 days I have previously done OBG, Psych and Stats really well. So have to focus on IM, Peds and Surgery this time.

Thanks for your kind encouragement Ivonne. I am gonna do it..... Why did I take NBME without revising UW questions? I am now seeing a pattern. There are very similar questions in UW to NBME....some answer choices are different but nevertheless the same concept. Hope I can finish all of the questions in UW by next week. Lofty planner....but can I keep going at it for another week? We'll see....... If I can finish UW by next week, I can try to give Step Up a quick 5 day read and then progress to a final 10 day revision of Kaplan notes (my third revision).Hoping to take NBME 2 sometime around Nov 14.

Well well well..... I am back. I spent the past 7 days reviewing 20 blocks of UW again and again. Feels good. I am slowly progressing but will get there. I still want to take NBME 2 (the tougher of the 3 NBMEs) around Nov 15. Hoping to finish the next 20 blocks of UW a little faster. I am starting to revise Kaplan along with Step Up and UW notes. Hope this will work........ Where art thou, dearest 99?
