hi there.

im sorry if this post is a bother, buti had an important question, and i think many have asked this on the board, indirectly, or it might be common sense, but i just want to make sure.

HOW DO YOU DO QUestions?

the way i have always done UW questions is, do a test on a particular organ or subject. do a run through, take what ever my FA or goljan is missing, add it in. memorize and undrstand my notes, and do the test. normally score very bad, because certain things confuse me in the quuestion stem, and i can easily bump my mark up a 10 % more, just because i might have clicked wrong, etc.

anywho.

what my class mates do is, do th questins, read the explanation, and thats it, maybe at the very end near their exam date, do every single question all over agian. they dont bother looking up things they are confused about, dont bother writing anything down.

am i doing this the wrong way?

i am just curious if its good enough if i just do the questions and get a feel for it, and expand my knowledge. because as i get questoins wrong, i see what the key is or the most imp concept and tricks, etcs.

i know that by just doing the questions i am learning new things on a regular basis. or is this not good enough.

sorry if my question makes no sense. like, i read this question on how the bone is connected to the osteum or something, and i was confused becasue i dint really come across it in my readings. or maybe beacuse i havent touched musck system in ages . so do i , read the asnwer, try to understand, and thats that, or do i look it up, and the options. etc.

my friends will do random tests daily, regardless if they have studied the material or not. i do it by what i just read the night before, never random.

the reason i am so worried is because, in teh past, i have had a very very good photographic memory for exams. i can recall almost word for word 50-60 questoins easily. i just dont know if its a good idea for me to do random tests, because later when i come across it , i might just answer what i remember, not from what i actually know.

those of you who always say "oh my UW was 80% , or whatever before you wrote the exam" what do you mean by this?

that you took say, anatomy test. got a mark of 60... a few weeks later it went up, and by the time u took it fort he last time for your review, u got it as an 80? is that what is meant.

because in my case, if i do that, the next time i write the UW portion i took a few weeks ago, i can guarntee a 90% because iw ill remember the answer and question. not necessairily i kno the material, but i just remember what it looks like.

urgh so frusterated, i hope this makes sense to everyone what i am asking.

i am just worried because i did biochem UW like 2 months ago. now in hte last few days i will do it again, and i know i know i will get a high mark on UW biochem. but i dont know if you all will think thats a good thing, or bad because a lot of it also was the fact that i recall things visually.

i realize 99.9% the test will have diff questions, so my method bites ass. but its not a method. ofcourse i study before an exam. but i know wheni review biochem- the UW test after will be higher then what i deserve just because i can remember , not cuz i know. thast sort of why i avoided doing questions til my prep was all done. so i wouldnt "cheat"

someone please straighten me out. especially those who have taken the test!!!!!

i am very very worried, and need to know asap , my studying is halted.
