I am facing a very unique situation and need advice...
My program is closing down in June 2008 and I am in my intern year.

Obviously it would be great if I could find a pgy-2 position and transfer but if it doesnt become possible:

Can I start a program in the same field from scratch??? and discounting my one year??

bbb... please advice if such a move is finantially possible as I heard that US government will only finance a resident in primary care for 3 years and not more and hospitals would be reluctant to accept such a resident. Will that apply if I transfer and accept to re-do the intern year???

Many thanks and I appreciate your advice...

Hi, I think the PD of your program should do his best to place current residents into other programs. Did he/she do anything for you?

There is a resident in my program who matched to my Peds program after doing two years of FM at other place. And she didn't like FM, so she applied through the match process once again. She will be credited 6 months for her previous experience, so that by January 2008 she will be a PGY-2.

I don't know if I have answerd all your questions.
