A 60 yo woman w/history of atherosclerosis complains of pain in her lower extremity.The pain begins when she walks but is not relieved by stopping and standing still.Only sitting or laying down relieves the pain.
Which of the following conditions is most consistant with the symptoms:
(a) intermittent claudication
(b) neurogenic claudication
(c) osteoarthritis
(d) rheumatoid arthritis
(e) sicatic

(b) is answer i guess.. as its clear case of claudication but then choice was between intermittent claudication and neurogenic claudication .But as far as i remember intermittent claudication can be relieved by rest but neurogenic can`t be relieved by just resting.

The pathophysiology is thought to be ischemia of the lumbosacral nerve roots secondary to compression from surrounding structures, hypertrophied facets, ligamentum flavum, and buldging discs.
