Here's my question,
Wot's more important step 3 or observership for my credentials?????!!!

I got a chace to do two months observership in neurology which is not my interest field from nov to dec,,,

well, i dont see y u cant try and do d 2 at the same time,it'll just take alot of hard work.I have realized step3 is quite important for this match, but at the same time, this clinical experience u are getting , is also a smart opportunity.I think u should aim to try and eat your ccake and have it, cos i can reall not honestly recc one above the other, they are both quite important

Dear kykie,
Good reply from you,But as u said it needs lot of hardwork,
Actually I want to get a good score in step3,Do we really need good score, honestly I don't know!!!

One more thing is...Currently I'm doing 1M USCE, from this university I'm getting two USlor's

Won't it be sufficent,Yeah i know now-a-days all programs are expecting 3M USCE...

Need more replies and clarifications.....

whoa all I can say is this is getting really tough. In the same vein then a good score in step 3 might make your chances better. Don't shy away from hard work now. Im sure you can do it.

Hi dears,
I can do hard work, but my work involves attending hospital from morning 7 to 6 in evening,
And i've to walk and take train consumes totally abt 3 hours(commuting distance).
When i return home,i'm exhausted,wanna sleep,that's the problem,

That's y I want to do anyone of this step3 or further USCE??

There was a menoupasal in another forum, and she said that:

As I said, Step 3 its a minimum requirement of competancy. its expected you'll pass. you impress no one by doing so. And by the way shouldnt take a significant time to study for it. And no, passing the step three without being in residency does nothing. By all means get it out of the way if you have a free couple of weeks to review. but will it make you more competitive. no it wont. i think youre making a mountain out of a molehill. btw most people are pretty well prepared for the step 3 after studing for step 2.

As a general rule, the better it felt when you said it, the more trouble it's going to get you into.

From what i have noticed, step 3 helps to get IVs if ur scores arent too good
also if u need a H1 visa, then definatel step3 should be a priority
some programs like Abington have said they req step3 to offer an IV
I also read it somewhere that st barnabas has been invitin people to come for a 2nd IV after passin their step 3
So really, how important step3 is really depends on u, ur situation is unique to u
If u dont need a Visa, and u have enough IV's then step3 might not really be a plus, like Dr Fischer said.
just look at d whole picture and decide what u feel is best 4 u
I wish u luck

Hi friends,
Thank you for your replies,
I don think USCE or step 3 is going to help me anymore,as it's already october end,
Even if i take step 3 by Jan or do USCE,no one(program) is going to know that sad ?
So,wot's the use? it'll be helpful for next match i think,
sorry friends i'm not discouraging anyone,
I got a couple of rejections today.that's y

All the best to all.
