HEy all
recently got my result n i failed cs in commication part! i thought i did every possible thing from smiling,to shakin hands to draping to washin to closure!i m shocked...but my concern is i ve already applied for SURGERY residency 2008match n ve passed step1 with 99/258...any hope of me matchin this yr if i give my cs after my ck dat is end nov/early dec???n do da programs still consider u for interview if u ve failed one attempt???plz sumone with similar prob..help me.its very frustratin!!

It depends on program, but 1 attempt to fail not catastrofic. Just keep going on. I failed twice and second time on english!!! unbelievable! Just check the programs what doesn't require ECFMG sertificate for IV and go take it again!!! Register ASAP.

GUYS, Any ideas about the criteria that they have placed on the CIS part? They have changed these criteria on July 15 and applied them for the reporting dates on OCT10. PLease update me if you have any idea.BEST

take the cs again early
and dont worry with a score like yours
an attempt wont matter much on the c.v
belive me it wont
and you will match if u time it properly

Hello everyone. They have changed some criteria which is why all of a sudden so many people have failed CS.
MUXIA, do u have any idea how to find programs that do not require ECFMG certificate for IV ?? I just found 2 or 3 who say that they did not require ecfmg certificate before I/V.

WE ARE IN THE SAME BOAT GUYS!!!!!!!
I FAILED IN THRE CS IN CIS PART DESPITE THE DOUBLE 99 IN BOTH STEPS 1&2....
I KNOW 5 OF MY CLOSE FRIENDS WHO ALSO HAD THE SAME BAD RESULT IN THE CIS PART.....
IF YOU KNOW ANYONE IN THE PROGRAMS WHERE YOU HAVE APPLIED, THIS WILL HELP YOU V MUCH. BY THIS MEANS I WAS ABLE TO GET 6 IV IN INTERNAL MEDICINE ..... SO TRI TO MAKE CONTACTS WITH PEOPLE IN THE PROGRAMS & TRY YOUR BEST . I HAVE A DATE FOR THE EXAM ON NON 9 ......REALLY I AM SO WORRIED BECAUSE OF THE FAILING RESULTS OF MANY OF MY FRIENDS ......
ANYWAYS WE HAVE TO STRUGGLE , TO BE STRONG & NOT TO SURRENDER .....
WE SHOULD TRY OUR BEST HOPING FOR THE BEST.
