In any case, what would be your best advice for me at this juncture. I am looking for options here. That I am in a really bad position I already know. Try gaining an observership/externship at an average program, so that while you are working there you can contact the selection comittee and let themknow that you are keenly interested and to show your further interest you are also working there. One of my batchmates did that last year and he applied in late nov and did observership at a place and later on matched. Till jan he had only 2 ivs. one from a place he did observership in OCt/nov and another from a very average community hospital in NY. He matched eventually in NY program. So dont lose hope.

May be I will drop coming back to the US and try next year with a complete application package and hopefully step 3 scores as well. It is going to be difficult for sure, you also know that, but instead of losing hope be prepared to fight. To be honest I am applying for a supercompetitive speciality and prelim both, which is extremely diff. for an IMG and wid scores in low 90s, but stilll I am fighting back hard. Good Luck to you. Keep your spirits high.
