This forum has been very supportive, time for me to return the favor! here is how CS went: Me: IMG graduated 8 months ago Exam date: 3rd of Aug. Location: LA Prep. duration: 5 days !! <-- (I know!!!!) Materials: FA only Partners: None Practice: None (but mentally practiced alone) Score report: received 2 months and 7 days later. Score: Pass Just want to thank everyone in this forum and would like to say to everyone, that this exam is not impossible to pass at all. The tension however is unbearable! If I could pass, then I guess anyone can! Good luck

Congrats on passing...it's good to know you passed by only studying 5 days, but i wouldn't recommend that for everyone. Most people who fail do so because of an overconfident attitude. Also, I would recommend to people studying for it to definately have a study partner to practice on. I also didn't have a study partner and I found out i passed today, but after the exam I regretting not practicing more.

i agree with wolverine9. Congrats as well. you are lucky since you graduated recently and have had more patient encounters than others. i am an older IMG and so i really regretted not having a practice partner. i am glad i studied longer and read all the cases in FA and USMLEWORLD. but i regretted not having more time and a partner to practice with.

congrats felkhider on passing. But i too agree with wolverine9...I had my father only for practising for 2-3 days before leaving for US but i studied by myself longer. I practised with him only the history taking, transition sentences and closing. No physical exam as had not much time. I also recommend having a partner but its too ideal situation and like me,wolverine, felkhider and damselMD, one don't get it always so practising by yourself really helps. Good Luck to all for the Match

That is so true. Having a partner is very helpful for CS. Even though a partner is not always available, I think you should try really hard to find one. At the end of the day, the most important thing I think is practice. Thank you koch, wolverine, damselMD, Aazad, mann81 for your support...!

i feel the next best but second best replacement for a study partner for CS would be standing in front of mirror and looking into one's eyes and practicing on an imaginery patient.

that's what i did! i actually talked to myself out loud and used a pillow to practice the PE... and then while i was outside at the bookstore, i would take the opening scenario of case, and write down all the questions i would ask the SP. and then i would note which PE skills i would do. then i would write down the differentials and tests i would do for the case. Then i would look up the answers and see if i got most of them right. Of course, that doesn't help with the CIS part since the best way would be to practice and talk with another person. but otherwise, that helped me study!
