Early decels = OK, fetal head compression -no impact on clinical outcome, do nothing. Variable decels = COULD BE BAD... umbilical cord compression, could have no impact OR could be associated with fetal aciosis which is not good! -change mom's position -Left better than Right? Late decels = ALWAYS BAD!!! = placental insufficiency... non reassuring... Emergent C-section is indicated -evacuate the fetus ASAP!!! -This one could also be related to fetal acidosis.
